The short version

A good AI interview assistant, sometimes called an interview copilot or prep coach, helps in two places: spoken practice in the weeks before an interview, and structured talking points during the conversation itself. We compared five tools on both. InterviewCaddy ranks #1 because it does both in the browser, asks follow-ups based on your answer, and costs $30 a month, with a $15 weekly plan for a single interview loop.

Our ranking:

  • #1 InterviewCaddy: $30 a month or $15 a week. 15 free minutes, no card. Practice in the browser, Live Assist in the browser and on Windows.
  • #2 Final Round AI: $150 a month, or $300 a year. Wide set of career tools. No free trial for live sessions.
  • #3 Verve AI: $44.99 to $84.99 a month. Free plan with mock interviews. Session limits on the Standard plan.
  • #4 LockedIn AI: $54.99 a month on promotion ($109.98 list). Runs on almost every device. Sessions capped at two hours.
  • #5 Sensei AI: $89 a month. Browser-based copilot. No traditional mock interview mode.

InterviewCaddy is our product, so we have tried to keep this list honest. Every price and feature below comes from the companies' public pages, and each tool gets its strengths and limits in plain words. You can check the numbers yourself before deciding.

How we ranked them

Most people use these tools for a few weeks during a job search, not for years. So we looked at five things:

  • Cost for a real job search. What you pay for two to six weeks of prep, not just the cheapest annual rate.
  • Free start. Whether you can try it properly without a credit card.
  • Practice quality. Spoken mock interviews with follow-up questions and a score, not just a question list.
  • Real-time help. Structured talking points during a live conversation, ideally built from your own stories.
  • Where it runs. Browser, desktop and phone support.

We weighed each tool on these five points. Final Round AI ranks #2 for its broad set of career tools and macOS app, held back by the highest monthly price and no free live sessions. Verve AI ranks #3 for its free plan and mock interviews, held back by session limits on Standard. LockedIn AI ranks #4 for device support, held back by promo-based pricing and features locked to its top plan. Sensei AI ranks #5 because it has no spoken mock interviews.

#1 InterviewCaddy: practice and live help in one place

InterviewCaddy combines mock interview practice and real-time help in one product. You can start a spoken mock interview in your browser at Caddy Web, on a laptop or a phone, with nothing to install. The interviewer asks follow-up questions based on what you actually said, and every session ends with a scored breakdown of what worked and what to tighten. It covers behavioral, technical (including system design) and product case interviews. In product cases, it shares data when you ask for it and pushes you to reach a conclusion, the way a real product interviewer would.

Live Assist gives real-time talking points during a conversation, in Caddy Web and in the Windows app. You can add your own prepared stories, resume and job description, so the talking points reflect your real experience rather than generic examples. Your talking points appear in your own private Live Assist workspace.

Pricing: $15 a week, $30 a month, or $240 a year. New accounts get 15 free minutes with no credit card. Cancel anytime and keep access to the end of your billing period.

Strengths: the lowest monthly price on this list, the only weekly plan, browser practice with nothing to install, follow-ups based on your answer, and real-time help built from your own stories.

Limits: the desktop app is Windows only for now. Mac users can use everything in Caddy Web.

#2 Final Round AI: broad career toolkit, premium price

Final Round AI is one of the best-known names in this category. Its Interview Copilot gives real-time help during live interviews, and the product includes mock interviews, a resume builder and job search tools. It runs as a desktop app for Windows and macOS.

Pricing: $150 a month, $250 every three months, or $300 a year. A Premium MAX plan is $500 a year. The free plan covers setup, such as uploading your resume, and the company states there is no free trial for live sessions.

Strengths: a wide set of career tools in one place and a macOS app.

Limits: the highest monthly price on this list, no way to try a live session for free, and the monthly plan is non-refundable under its plan page FAQ. For a full side-by-side, see InterviewCaddy vs Final Round AI.

#3 Verve AI: generous free plan, session limits on Standard

Verve AI offers an interview copilot and AI mock interviews, with apps for Windows and Mac and a browser version. Its free plan is generous for practice, with five mock interviews and three short copilot sessions.

Pricing: Standard is $44.99 a month, $39.99 a month quarterly, or $16.99 a month billed yearly ($203.88). Pro is $84.99 a month, $59.99 a month quarterly, or $34.99 a month billed yearly.

Strengths: a useful free plan and the lowest yearly rate on this list if you commit to Standard for a full year.

Limits: Standard allows five copilot sessions a month of up to 60 minutes. Unlimited sessions need Pro, which costs more than InterviewCaddy's monthly plan by over $50.

#4 LockedIn AI: widest device support

LockedIn AI runs on almost every platform: browser, Windows, macOS, iPhone, Android, plus browser and code editor extensions. It offers a copilot and voice mock interviews with scored reports.

Pricing: Unlimited General is $54.99 a month on promotion (list price $109.98), or $39.99 a month on the three-month plan. Unlimited Professional is $119.99 a month. A credits plan is $69.99 a month for 400 copilot minutes. Prices in the mobile apps are higher.

Strengths: broad device support and mock interviews included in the unlimited plans.

Limits: paid sessions end at two hours, several features sit only on the more expensive Professional plan, and monthly and quarterly plans are non-refundable once started under its refund policy.

#5 Sensei AI: browser copilot without spoken mocks

Sensei AI is a browser-based interview copilot with a resume builder and a story editor. It works in Chrome, so there is nothing to install.

Pricing: PRO is $89 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly (about $288 a year). A free plan offers short copilot sessions with no card.

Strengths: simple browser setup and a free plan to try the copilot.

Limits: no traditional spoken mock interview format. Its practice tool is a text chat on the PRO plan, so it is better suited to live help than to rehearsing out loud.

Why InterviewCaddy ranks #1

Practice does most of the work in interview prep. Candidates who rehearse out loud, with follow-up questions and honest scoring, walk in with stories they can tell smoothly and need far less help in the moment. InterviewCaddy is built around that, and adds Live Assist for the moments when nerves hit.

  • Practice and live help in one product, both available in the browser.
  • Follow-ups based on your actual answer, so you practice the part of the interview that catches most people.
  • Talking points built from your own stories, not generic scripts.
  • The lowest month-to-month price on this list, and a $15 weekly plan if you have one interview loop coming up.
  • 15 free minutes with no card, enough to run a short mock and see your score.

A note on interview rules

Many companies publish guidelines about AI tools during interviews, and some do not allow them at all. Before using real-time help in a live interview, check the rules of the company you are interviewing with. Mock interview practice has no such limits, and it is where most of the improvement happens.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI interview assistant in 2026?

It depends on how you prepare, but InterviewCaddy ranks #1 in our comparison because it combines spoken mock interviews with follow-ups and real-time Live Assist, runs in the browser, and has the lowest monthly price of the five tools compared here.

What is the cheapest AI interview assistant?

Month to month, InterviewCaddy is the lowest on this list at $30 a month, and it is the only one with a weekly plan at $15. If you are willing to pay for a full year upfront, Verve AI's Standard plan is the lowest yearly rate, with a limit of five copilot sessions a month.

Which AI interview tools have a free trial?

InterviewCaddy gives 15 free minutes with no credit card. Verve AI, LockedIn AI and Sensei AI offer free plans with short sessions. Final Round AI's free plan covers setup only, and the company states there is no free trial for live sessions.

Can I use an AI interview assistant on a Mac?

Yes. InterviewCaddy's Caddy Web works in any modern browser on a Mac. Final Round AI, Verve AI and LockedIn AI have macOS apps, and Sensei AI runs in Chrome.

Is mock interview practice or real-time help more useful?

For most people, practice. Rehearsing out loud with follow-up questions builds the structure into your memory, so you need little or no help in the moment. Real-time help works best as a safety net on top of that preparation.
