Fair Use Policy
InterviewCaddy, operated by Orrign Inc., an Ontario corporation, is built for real interview preparation. This Fair Use Policy explains what our plans include, what "unlimited practice" means, and how we keep the Service fast, reliable, and affordable for everyone.
What each plan includes
Free and Weekly plans include a set amount of practice time. Monthly and Annual plans include unlimited practice, subject to fair use. Product-case interviews — our most compute-intensive mode — include a set amount of minutes on every plan.
The specific practice-time and product-case allowances for each plan are shown in the application and on the pricing page, and may change with notice. Individual sessions also have a maximum length, which varies by plan and is shown in the application. Product-case minutes count toward your total practice time.
What "fair use" means
Fair use means using InterviewCaddy the way interview preparation actually happens: multiple sessions per week during an active search, intensive practice in the days before scheduled interviews, lighter use between cycles.
For reference, fair use on unlimited plans corresponds to roughly 10 hours of combined mock & Live Assist practice per month (approximately 125 hours per year on the Annual plan). That is more than almost any candidate uses, even during an intensive job search. Sustained usage beyond these levels may be paused until your next billing period.
Fair use does not include:
- Automated or scripted use of the Service
- Account sharing (multiple people using one paid account)
- Reselling or sublicensing access to the Service
- Sustained volume that is inconsistent with one person preparing for their own interviews
- Use that interferes with the Service's availability or performance for other users
Usage limits
To keep the Service responsive and prevent abuse, all accounts are subject to limits in addition to the plan allowances above. Current values are documented in the application, may differ by plan, and may change with notice:
- Per-session length — each session has a maximum duration, which varies by plan.
- Sessions per billing cycle — each plan includes a maximum number of sessions per cycle.
- Hourly and daily rate limits — limits on session starts per hour and per day, to prevent automated or burst use.
- Per-answer limits — limits on regenerations per answer.
We may adjust limits to balance availability, performance, and cost.
When you reach a limit
When you approach or reach a limit:
- The application shows a clear message identifying which limit was reached and when it resets.
- On unlimited plans, reaching the fair-use threshold pauses practice until the start of your next billing period.
- If you use all of your product-case minutes, behavioral and live practice remain available with your remaining practice time.
- Features that do not depend on the reached limit remain available.
- All limits reset automatically at the start of the next applicable period; per-cycle limits reset at the end of your billing period.
Free tier and degraded service
If usage on a free account exceeds reasonable patterns — for example, sustained heavy use over multiple days that approaches the cost of a paid plan — we may temporarily adjust certain capabilities, such as switching to less expensive AI models, so the free tier remains available without disrupting overall Service quality.
When degraded service is active:
- You are notified within the application.
- Core functionality remains available.
- Standard capabilities are restored when usage normalizes or when you upgrade to a paid plan.
What we monitor
We monitor aggregate usage patterns to detect:
- Abuse of free tier limits
- Account sharing or credential leaks
- Automated or scripted access
- Patterns inconsistent with individual interview preparation
We do not review the content of your sessions for the purpose of evaluating fair use. Content handling is governed by our Privacy Policy.
Enforcement
If this Policy is violated, we may:
- Send you a notice describing the issue
- Temporarily limit access to the Service
- Suspend or terminate your account in cases of severe or repeated violations
We will provide reasonable notice and an opportunity to address the issue, except in cases involving security risks, billing fraud, or other immediate harm.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
